A 45 yr old lady presented to Department of Orthopaedics, Chettinad Hospital & Research Institute with Infected Nonunion of tibia of 6 months duration, with fracture of both Tibia& fibula on left side( closed im nailing of tibia done with nonunion) . On right side (tibia) the following were done, 1) Removal of exfix tibia followed by antibiotic coated (vancomycin- as she was MRSA positive) follwed by local flap cover for the exposed bone stage 2) Exchanging nailing of left Tibia for frature shaft tibioa with nonunion, stage 3) REMOVAL OF IMLPANT FROM TIBIA, STAGE 4) Tibialisation of fibula , followed by protection with PTB orthosis At present, she has serous discharge from the proximal screw head site , with yielding at the site of tibialisation of Fibula. She has no healthy fibula on the left side, as segmental resection of fibula was done at the time exchange nailing of tibia. ofcourse, the tibia on the left side has healed . . I will be grateful if some suitable solution is offered at this stage, Thanking you for doing the needful, M.narayanaReddy prof & HOD Orthopaedics, Chettinad Hospital & Research Institute and Chettinad Academy of Research and Education
