I am a retired doctor and have been fairly active all my life. One of the problems that I have faced during the last few years has been feeling tired and drowsy on and off. I could never work out why this happened on some days and not every day. I went through a lot of literature and finally saw an ENT consultant who thought it might be due to sleep apnoea. He suggested I use a CPAP machine. Since I started using the machine my night time sleep has improved and I don’t wake up 2 or 3 times during the night that I used to before I started using the CPAP. However recently I have found that I am extremely exhausted and drowsy every other day. This happens particularly the day after I had walked 2 or 3 miles. I am used to walking 3 to 4 mils daily in the past.
My cardio vascular state is OK as I have had a full assessment including an echo cardiogram and monitored for a whole week with a halter.
Any thoughts on my symptoms and how I should proceed now?
