      More than 8M people worldwide died from cancer in 2012 In 2012, 8.2 million people died from cancer-related causes, up 8% from 7.6 million in 2008, according to a report released by the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer. Of the estimated 14.1 million new cancer cases in 2012, 1.7 million were breast cancer, an increase of more than 20% from 2008. Lung cancer was the most prevalent cancer diagnosis, followed by breast cancer and colorectal cancer. Reuters (12/12), U.S. News & World Report (12/12)

      I suspect a lot more people died natural calamities and violence through out the world.
