Doctors and Scientists have still not found a cure for Covid 19 infection. A lot of research in many fields is being undertaken around the world in the fight against the Novel Corona Virus. HeiQ, a developer of textile technology, in Switzerland recently launched HeiQ Viroblock NPJ03, an antiviral and antimicrobial textile treatment process that is reported to be effective against the coronavirus in face mask testing.

HeiQ Viroblock NPJ03 is a combination of vesicle and silver technologies designed to inhibit the growth and persistence of bacteria and viruses. The vesicle technology targets lipid-enveloped viruses, such as coronavirus, providing rapid virus deactivation, while the silver technology inhibits the replication of both bacteria and viruses.

A few companies have started using this technology to coat face masks and medical gowns in the fight against Covid 19 infection. The company claims that by combining HeiQ’s vesicle & silver technology they are able to effectively destroy the virus when it lands on the material.
