Dr. Kannivelu Badrinath. FRCS., MSc (Ortho) (Lond), D.Phys Med (Lond)
Founder Member & Director: Dr. Kannivelu Badrinath is one of the Founder Members of the Madras Red Fort Doctors Foundation. A proud alumnus of Madras Medical College, he graduated in 1968 and began his career as a Tutor at his alma mater before moving to the United Kingdom, where he specialised in Hip and Knee Surgery. He served in the National Health Service for nearly 35 years, earning recognition for his clinical expertise and commitment to patient care.
Following his retirement, Dr. Badrinath returned to Chennai with a renewed interest in strengthening connections between medical students and senior graduates of Madras Medical College. With this vision, he and two fellow alumni established the Madras Red Fort Doctors Foundation on 23 October 2019. Recognising that graduates are spread across the globe, the Founding Members designed the Foundation’s activities and meetings to be conducted primarily online, enabling wide participation and sustained engagement.
Dr. Badrinath continues to play an active role in shaping the Foundation’s mission of mentorship, education, and service.
