About Can-Stop

Can-Stop is a community based, organization dedicated to helping people with cancer. They provide counselling services in a holistic manner. The Organization was started by Dr. Vijaya Bharathi Rangarajan as a fitting tribute to her late husband Dr. S. Rangarajan.

Dr. Rangarajan son of late Mr. T.S. Santhanam of the TVS Family is the Founder of Sundaram Medical Foundation that he established in 1994. His vision was to help the community at large by providing cost effective quality health care. Unfortunately, before he could realise all his dreams, at the age of 52 he died from a brain cancer. Dr Vijaya Bharathi Rangarajan took up the mantle to continue with what he started. She started several community based projects for the people who needed support.

Dr. Vijaya Bharathi Rangarajan is a Maxillofacial Surgeon at Sundaram Medical Foundation. She is also a Trustee and Director, at the Hospital. She founded Can Stop and is now its Executive Director. She is a Rotarian and past President of Rotary Club of Madras. Her work has been recognised by several organisations and she is the recipient of several awards connected with her community work.

Through Can-Stop many initiatives have been undertaken including support for children affected by cancer and support for their families who come from economically weaker sections of society. For our online talk, she will be explaining the work they do at Can-Stop and other community related projects.
