In 2019, a group of proud alumni of Madras Medical College came together to establish the “Madras Red Fort Doctors Foundation”—a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting our College, its students, and charitable healthcare initiatives. 

 Our Legacy 

Madras Medical College is one of the oldest and most respected medical schools in India. What began as a private Medical Hall run by Dr. Mortimar of the East India Company was formalized as a medical school in 1835 by Sir Frederick Adam, then British Governor. Since then, thousands of distinguished doctors have either graduated or did their post graduation from our college, many of whom now serve at prestigious institutions across the globe. We take immense pride in their contributions to medicine and society. 

 Our Inspiration

Most of our alumni began their medical journey at the historic “Red Fort”, where anatomy was taught. This iconic building holds a special place in our hearts and inspired the name of our Foundation. Officially registered on 23rd October 2019, the Foundation raises funds to support charitable activities, our College, its graduates and post graduates, and medical students across India. 

 Our Mission 

It is a privilege to have studied or done your postgraduation at one of India’s premier medical schools, which has produced world-class experts in diverse fields of medicine. With this heritage, we believe it is our responsibility to mentor and guide not only students of Madras Medical College but also medical students across India. By joining our group, students can interact with senior graduates, gain valuable insights, and benefit from the vast knowledge and experience of our alumni community. 

Our Objectives 

As outlined in our Articles of Association, we strive to: 

– Encourage and uphold academic, social, and ethical values among all medical students in India. 

– Support graduates and postgraduates of Madras Medical College without prejudice of race, religion, community, or social background. 

– Offer financial assistance to deserving medical students across India. 

– Promote high-quality medical and healthcare services among graduates nationwide. 

– Provide free and subsidized medical services without profit motives. 

– Advance research in medicine, healthcare, and related fields. 

– Undertake charitable outreach activities for the benefit of society. 

Membership & Support 

Achieving these goals requires collective effort and funding. We raise resources through memberships and donations: 

– **Regular Members** – Graduates and postgraduates of Madras Medical College 

– **Student Members** – Any medical student in India 

– **Associate Members** – Doctors who graduated from any Indian medical college 

Today, we are proud to have over **90 members**. Even small, regular contributions can grow into something significant—helping students, supporting our College, and enabling impactful charitable work.
