SUMMARY:Prevention & Management of Eye Injuries
DESCRIPTION:Dr. S. Natarajan\, Consultant Opthalmic Vitreo retinal Surgeon who has been touring several centres around the world educating the Opthalmic Surgeons on Vitreoretinal Surgery will be addressing our group on Eye Injuries. \nDr. Natarajan is a graduate of Madras Medical College. He did his Fellowship in Vitreo retinal surgery from Sankara Nethralaya under the World renowned Vitreo Retinal Surgeon Dr S. S. Badrinath. After this he  established himself as a Vitreoretinal Surgeon in Mumbai at Taparia Institute in Bombay Hospital.  In 1990\, he set up Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital in Mumbai. He improvised several techniques in vitreo retinal surgery and brought global knowledge and techniques to India. He has performed more than 60\,000 Vitreoretinal surgeries. \nDr Natarajan also established a not for profit Public Charitable Trust- Aditya Jyot Foundation for Twinkling Little Eyes (AJFTLE) in 2005. The Foundation runs outreach programs in rural and urban slums and tribal areas in India. The Foundation work has been highlighted in International corner of American society of Retina specialist (ASRS). \nHe was awarded the Padma Shri by the President of India in the year 2013. He is also the recipient of several state \, national and international awards for his exemplary work in the medical field of ophthalmology. \n
