After this he  established himself as a Vitreoretinal Surgeon in Mumbai at Taparia Institute in Bombay Hospital.  In 1990\, he set up Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital in Mumbai. He improvised several techniques in vitreo retinal surgery and brought global knowledge and techniques to India. He has performed more than 60\,000 Vitreoretinal surgeries. \nDr Natarajan also established a not for profit Public Charitable Trust- Aditya Jyot Foundation for Twinkling Little Eyes (AJFTLE) in 2005.
